Zenith

Zenith is IronMind's line of smooth-handled torsion-spring grippers, designed for conditioning and moderate-repetition work alongside its Captains of Crush range. They use shaped billet-aluminum handles and a proprietary alloy-steel spring, and are manufactured in the USA.[1]

Distinctive construction

The handles are larger and more rounded than conventional straight gripper handles. Their smooth surfaces allow movement across the fingers without knurling. IronMind's instruction booklet describes a slightly oval shape intended to spread pressure across the hand.[1][2]

Cannon PowerWorks identifies the handle diameter at the central ring as approximately one inch. This geometry is an important distinction when comparing Zenith with ordinary grippers.[3]

Models and resistance

IronMind lists six strengths: Agility, Trainer, 1, 2, 3 and 4. These are Zenith's own levels; the same number does not mean the same closing difficulty as a Captains of Crush model.[1]

Cannon PowerWorks stopped individually rating Zenith because its ergonomics make measurements only partly comparable with conventional grippers. It explains that its earlier published comparison figures were measured at the middle of the handle.[4]

Training documentation

The original instruction booklet describes the grip position, moderate-repetition use and maintenance. It is also a useful historical record of the design and the manufacturer's intended role for the product.[2]
